About Us

The Metro Mission of
The Navigators is about igniting hope together, centered on Jesus Christ and His Word. We desire to make a permanent spiritual difference for Christ in the lives of people all around us, and we want to help you do the same.
Why do we focus in the metropolitan areas and major cities across the U.S.? Today, 50% of the world lives in cities. By 2030, that will rise to 80%! How then can we not go to them? These men, women, and children are bombarded with economic challenges, political confusion, relational pain, business pressures, false religious messages, cultural chaos, and all types of substitutes for the real answer to life – Jesus. They are dying without Him. We must bring them the real hope of life in the resurrected Jesus Christ.
The Metro Mission is a band of ordinary men and women with uncommon passion who desire to make a lasting spiritual difference for Christ. Some serve full time as staff with The Navigators. Most are not employed by The Navigators. Many work at various jobs. Others volunteer their time. We have a variety of ministry efforts including some with urban children/young adults, medical students, immigrant groups, and business workers and professionals. Other ministries include helping the poor and homeless people, 20-something professionals, and those living in suburban neighborhoods. We also partner with local churches.

We are located in communities and cities, both large and small, around the U.S. We serve many types of people from ex-cons to high powered business professionals to stay-at-home moms. Women like Linda and Nancy minister with us. Linda was challenged to courageously step out and invite co-workers to a lunch gathering that included a Bible study and discussion time. She did. Eventually, Nancy, the office manager, agreed to come. She had avoided it, feeling embarrassed to admit she knew nothing about the Bible. Before long, Nancy gave her life to Christ.
Men like Ted also minister with us. Ted partners with friends and local leaders on Capitol Hill to minister to Congressmen and their staff. They build friendships with others to demonstrate, articulate, and bring them the good news of Jesus Christ.
The Metro Mission strives to empower and send out teams and bands of friends—devoted to God, each other, a community of believers, and their cities—to be, do, and speak the good news of Jesus, His Gospel, and His Word. Would you like to reach your friends for Christ? Your neighbors? Your co-workers? Others in your city and beyond? We would love to have you join us! Come and help ignite hope together for Jesus and through Jesus.
