Metro Mission

Multi-Cultural Groups

In Chicagoland, there are almost 3 million African Americans and almost 2 million Hispanics. We are also the second largest Polish city in the world, next to Warsaw. There is a growing number of Muslims. Asians of various heritages live in their own cultural neighborhoods and maintain their languages and practices.

The Chicago Navigators are connected in many of these communities serving many different people groups. Some staff visit local mosques and initiate spiritual conversation among the Muslims. Others help immigrants adjust to life in a new country. We also engage in:

  • Street Evangelism
  • Bible Study
  • Community Development
  • Job training
  • Mentoring, and
  • In-School Life Skills Programs

Major challenges:

  • Culturally relevant training and development
  • Culturally relevant materials
