Our Mission?
Did you know…
It’s amazing to see what God is doing around the world through The Navigator work.
Did you know that most people who make a decision to follow Christ do so outside of a church setting? Most people enter into an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ after seeing a friend or family member living for the Lord.
The Navigators ministry began in 1933 when lumberyard worker Dawson Trotman began to pass along spiritual principles that he found beneficial in his own life to unchurched men serving in the military. Today, thousands of Navigator staff and fellow laborers share the vision and carry on that same mission in settings all around the world.
The Navigators is a collection of men and women – some staff and some community members – who are committed to being a living example of Christ and His kingdom to those around them and helping others to do the same.
Our desire at The Navigator Chicago Metro Mission is to reach out to people in all walks of life – be it neighborhoods or college campuses; through churches or the marketplace, and in any socioeconomic status or cultural setting – with the good news of Jesus Christ and to equip other Christ-followers to do the same.
As part of The Navigators, and the Chicago Metro Mission, we are committed to reaching people for the Lord and helping you reach people for the Lord where you live, work, study and play. If you want to have a spiritual impact on your world, we’d love to partner with you.
“North America is now the largest mission field in the English-speaking world. And the 200 million-plus ‘secular’ North Americans make the United States and Canada the third largest mission field in the world—after China and India. In a real sense, we are back in apostolic times. We are in a missionary situation in our own country.”
The Power of Story, Leighton Ford
